Highlights: Sightings in Alberta
Ruby-throats are approaching the end of the migration trail. They pushed past last week's frontiers arriving north of the Great Lakes and west into Alberta, Canada.

"Finally! Between the tornadoes and snowstorms the first male has arrived!"
05/14/15 Nolalu, Ontario

Soon these northern migrants will be busy getting ready for the next generation.

"Today I witnessed my first courtship dance. At first, I thought it was a territorial war near one of our feeders but then I noticed tails spread and the two doing in-sync 'swoops' that continued for about 30 seconds until they fell into the grass to mate. It was a thrill!" 05/14/15  Belleville, Michigan
