At Dawn and Dusk Scientists use different terms for the times of day an animal is active. Owls and bats are nocturnal, meaning they are active at night. Other animals are busy during daylight hours and are considered diurnal. Deer, skunks, and most hummingbirds can show more activity in the crepuscular hours of dawn and dusk.
