After a warmer than average winter in northern New England, hummingbird lovers were hoping for an early arrival this spring. Northern winds and cold spring temperatures mean they have to wait a bit longer.
"We’ve been checking the map several times a day. Our hummers are late! Since May 1st, we’ve had either rain, very cold weather and/or north winds. The hummers are smart to have stayed away. We still have north winds predicted until Thursday when temperatures will soar to the 70s," reported Elizabeth in Norwich, Vermont on May 10th.
