What holiday are Mexicans preparing to celebrate?
When the monarchs arrive in Mexico, the corn is ready for harvest and the people are getting ready for Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead). Dia de los Muertos is a traditional holiday when loved ones who have died are remembered in special ways. This photo shows children during a Dia de los Muertos festival. What objects in this photo reveal traditional ways people in Mexico honor their loved ones who have died? What special meaning might the flowers, candles, food, colors, and dress have?
