  • 3/30/10 Shubenacadie, Nova Scotia
Today after two nights of well below freezing had a good run of sap (for maple syrup) today. This will be the end of the season and production was well below average based on records for past 20 years.
  • 3/30/10 White Bear Lake, Minnesota
Ice-out on Bald Eagle Lake. Strong SE winds broke up the ice slamming it against the NW shore. It was "like the coast of Maine!" Very early this year. Usually ice out is in April.

Forsythias are blooming, quince and bradford pear is right on its tail. Several wild shrubs have already leafed out.
