Nesting Discovery
The average latitude this week for robins nesting behavior is 39.00 N. This Ohio citizen scientist shares what she learned aftera robin built two nests, about 2.5 feet apart, on their windowsills:
"The robin nesting in our windowsill has laid 3 eggs in her completed nest. She has laid 1 egg in her abandoned nest. From the research I have found she will abandoned the one egg and will incubate the three. I could not find why she would lay eggs in both nests but I did find it is common for a robin to build more than one nest."
