Symbolic Monarchs in Mexico

EL Rosario Telesecundaria
Students and teachers start classes, at this level (Junior High School), at 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., from Monday to Friday.

Teachers and students immediately convened, choosing to gather at the central patio of the school, where Estela, together with all these students, who, for years now, since they were at Elementary, have received Ambassador Monarchs with letters sent by North American and Canadian students, so going over the Monarch's life cycle is for them easier and easier every year, having Estela, then, going into further information about Monarchs, getting to know much more about their miraculous life, the challenges they face and the way the three sponsoring countries (Canada, US and México) cooperate in order to diminish every challenge to assure the specie's survival.

Students responded to their letters enthusiastically after having received their letters, photos and gifts from their Americans and Canadian counterparts, learning about their life, their school and favorite aspects in both, telling at the same time about them, their life, school, and culture to them.

Students enjoy the many and different gifts brought with their symbolic monarchs, and also books donated by "Monarchs Across Georgia" and Journey North.

The Principal of the school, teacher Agustín Hernández, and 3rd. grade teacher Diana Acevedo altogether with their students, proudly asked Estela to allow them some time to show America and Canadian Students, through Journey North, a documentation students at this school did about Monarchs life-cycle. Estela was surprised to see a photo they showed about a "White and Black" color Monarch located in Hawaii, which presumably, changed its colors in order to avoid her predators, and/or to adjust itself to weather conditions in that far away land. Had you heard of this already?

It was break time and shooting some wonderful photos from students at breaktime and from the school, Estela left amidst appreciation from teachers and the enthusiasm of students certain that Journey North will visit them next year!!!.

The documentation / investigation 3rd. grade Students from "El Rosario" Telesecundaria have done to make it known to other schools (elementary level) and their own families, for which they have been recognized by the school community in their area.

Break Time:After having enjoyed receiving Ambassador Monachs and letters, students enjoy break time, eating our tipycal delicios tacos or a variety of light snacks sold at really low prices!, 3, 5, 8 pesos the most expensive dish or snack!.

This school is about 20 years old. Before, this time, every youngster from this community wanting to study further than elementary school had to be sent by his family to Angangueo town to live there during the week while doing their studies.
