Lázaro Cárdenas Elementary
Families of students at Lázaro Cárdenas school are part of Ejido Cerro Prieto. Although they live physically near El Rosario Sanctuary they own rights at the Sanctuary of Sierra Chincua which is about 10 kilometers to the north. This and even older generations of students, know no other way of life for their parents than the monarch season bringing a significant income to the family for the rest of the year.

These photos show a far view to the school, so you get an idea of the surrounding, then, the exchange and sharing with students, the group doing their response letter, students enjoying opening their letters, showing what they received as gifts to each other, with their teachers. It was a wonderful visit with these students.
