Passenger Lists on the Way Right now, envelope by envelope, school by school, we are hard at work preparing the "Symbolic Migration Passenger Lists" so you can look to make sure your butterflies are on board! We'll post this list when the Butterflies continue their migration to Mexico on November 1, 1999.
How Many Symbolic Butterflies Will be Flying to Mexico?
Clues: Follow the directions below and good luck! Butterflies Ready to Take Off on Monday Mark your calendar! Your butterflies will continue on their journey to Mexico next Monday, November 1--on the eve of Mexico's Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead). When they leave Minneapolis that evening, UPS will give us the special tracking number, so you'll be able to track their migration LIVE on the UPS website. We'll post the UPS Tracking number for you no later than 8 pm and challenge you to predict: Exactly how many days, hours, minutes and seconds do you think the symbolic migration will take? Get ready now and practice tracking the Symbolic Migration on the UPS WWW site for special packages:

Mark your calendar because here's what we're planning: November 1, 1999 The butterflies will fly out. Remember, you'll be able to track their migration LIVE to Mexico on the UPS website. Also on November 1: Plan to check the "Symbolic Migration Passenger Lists" to make sure your butterflies are on board! November 17, 1999 By now, your symbolic butterflies will have arrived at their winter home in Mexico. We'll send news from Papalote in Mexico City, and from the schools surrounding the real monarch sanctuaries near Angangeuo. Find out how fast the butterflies traveled, and exactly how many symbolic butterflies made the trip. By way of thanks, we will also list the names of the many people who are helping to conserve monarch habitat in Mexico, through a donation to the Monarch Butterfly Sanctuary Foundation.
