The Migrations Are Underway! Somebody must have told the Eastern Eagles that it's spring! Just as we were about to send this week's update, new data arrived showing they're on their way. These eagles won't hold still long enough for us to write...thus the delay in sending today's news.
Field Notes From Biologist Peter Nye Hi All, We've got a mass exodus! I've been up in Quebec skiing last few days, and from the looks of things, I should've stayed up there. Maybe I would have seen one of our birds go by! Eagle #F43 has definitely begun to boogey; I haven't had time yet to check the map with these data, but will be interested to see her path compared to last year's. I assume you all know where she is going, right?? Look at last year's map and data, then see if you can answer this question:
(To respond to this question, please follow the instructions below.) It looks like Eagle #F83 is continuing his move north--and Eagle #F81's on the move again now, too. Where do you suppose he's going?! However, our "late" eagle, Eagle #F44, is still sitting tight down here in the wintering area, just like last year.
