Michigan Students Greet You and Their First Robin
Tens of robin reports arrived this week. Be sure to read them on the Web. They convey the excitement of spring
like this greeting from Emerson School in Ann Arbor:
March 7, 2002
"This morning, about 9:45, a student named Ansted spotter a robin on the class playground. We all ran to the
windows to greet the first robin of spring. He was all alone. He pretty much just stood there, occasionally bobbing
down and then up again, moving forward a bit. After a few minutes he flew to the top of a nearby tree.
It's 30 degrees. The wind is ENE at 8 mph. Overcast. Hi to Journey North participants! This is a wonderful way
to join together to study nature!"

Please report the sights and sounds of robins in your backyard! See you next week.
