Bella the Allen's Hummingbird raised 2 chicks in a nest in the branches of a ficus tree in La Verne, California. Her chicks just fledged on 4/28/15! Peep went first, and Lily, not waning to be left out of the fun, joined him not long after. The host of the Bella Hummingbird nest expressed these words about the tiny graduates: "They are both staying around the vine for now and Bella is feeding them and being very protective over them." |
