Fog, Winds Stall "Chass 7" Again (+ 0 Miles)

Fog on the ground and strong winds aloft made another no-fly day for the seven cranes stuck at the Jefferson County (FL) staging area. Ahead for them are stopovers at Madison, Gilchrist, and Marion Counties. Their arrival flyover celebration will be the day they reach Marion County and their temporary pen at Halpata-Tastanaki Preserve. A short time later they will make their final flight over the remote island at Chass for the remainder of the winter. It will take the right weather to get them home. (The "Chass 7" are 824, 819, 804, 803, 818, 814 and 827.)

    (a ) The goal of this reintroduction is to build a flock of 125 birds by 2020. How old will you be then?
  • (b-for-bonus) The Eastern flock today has 73 wild Whooping cranes. Fourteen more will be added to that total when the Chass 7 complete the migration to their wintering grounds. Fill in the blank: "With the 'delivery' of the Class of 2008 to Florida the reintroduction goal will be _____ percent of the way!"
