Hello, KENTUCKY! (+ 108 Miles )
November 27, 2008: Migration Day 42

Joe was today's lead pilot. He led all 14 birds until 827 broke off to fly with Richard.

Wa-HOO! All 14 birds took off behind lead pilot Joe as they departed Cumberland County, IL this morning. With help from a tailwind, they covered the distance to Wayne County, Illinois — and continued to Union County, Kentucky! All birds stayed on Joe's wing until the last 30 minutes, when #827 joined Richard's plane for his own private ride (again). They flew a terrific 108 miles in 2 hours and 52 minutes. OH, WONDERFUL CRANES AND PLANES!

Happy Thanksgiving Day!
