Crating Birds for Transport: Tough Decision

When birds turn back or drop out, what do we think about before deciding if we need to crate and drive them to the next stopover?

• There is always the possibility of injury in the crate.

• Birds captured and packed into a box can soon become wary of people dressed in white (our costume).

When we have good flying weather for days in a row, any reluctant birds get more chances to follow the core group of leaders until they learn the routine and have fun following.
