No Go. Waiting Out the Winds (+0 Miles)
November 7, 2009: Migration Day 23

The south winds continue, bringing warm air and wild winds. Surface winds are strong out of the SW, and aloft they are blowing a stiff 35 to 40. It's down-day #2 in Winnebago County, Illinois.

The team is using a cellular aircard to broadcast the feed on the CraneCam. The amount of data each month is limited so on down-days, the camera runs for about 3 hours each morning, beginning soon after sunrise and for 1 hour in late afternoon (between 3:30 - 4:30) for roost check. The rest of the time you can watch the archived clips that are captured each day.
