Whoop it Up! Stopover #6 (+55 Miles)
November 15, 2009: Migration Day 31

Photo Operation Migration

A few days ago lead pilot Joe Duff said, "Crossing the 10,000-mile line is proving as hard as it was to accumulate them in the first place." But today the milestone was passed! By 8:30 the cranes and planes were safely on the ground in LaSalle County, with 55 miles gained. The team later celebrated racking up the 10,000th mile of leading Whooping cranes south in nine years of ultralight-led migrations. The festivities were live on the CraneCam, and we hope you were there. What a grand and exciting start to the week!
