Flown to Stopover 7! (+59 Miles)
November 6, 2010: Migration Day 28

Today's departure from Livingston County, IL.
Video: David Boyd, Operation Migration

After a quick test flight to check winds up high, pilot Richard moved in to launch with the cranes at 8:05 a.m.. See it on the video above! They were off to cover 59 miles of southward progress. At 9:44 they landed in Piatt County, Illinois. Hooray! All but one bird formed up with Richard upon takeoff. The video clip shows #2-10 quickly dropping out and circling back to the pen. Pilot Brooke flew back to coax #2 to fly solo with him and his trike. But #2 bird was not getting with that program. He got to the new site, but in a crate. For the other ten, we celebrate a safe landing at a new location!
