Operation Migration The arrival flyover flight almost happened for the Chass Five. Joe and Richard took a test flight that dashed hopes. Joe's speed at 1,300 feet was only 14.8 mph. His GPS showed 4 hours and 55 minutes to reach Marion County at that speed. With only 3 hours worth of fuel onboard the ultralights, that would NOT work. It's the fifth day of waiting for the Chassahowitzka-bound cranes, still in the Gilchrist County pen. Cranes 3-10, 9-10, 15-10, 16-10 and 17-10 must wait another day for their celebration flight. That flight will land the Chass Five to a temporary layover site at Halpata before they reach their final release pen at Chassahowitzka NWR. Why? That's your challenge to find out in today's Journal Question.
