Migration 2011 Begins! (+5 Miles)
October 9, 2011: Migration Day 1

They're OFF! Fog lifted, warm head winds calmed just a bit, and five of the ten birds launched with today's lead pilot, Brooke. Back at White River Marsh, pilot Joe had no luck in coaxing the other birds to take off and follow the path he'd chosen. They turned back, and, we hope, will try again tomorrow. In the end, only three birds went the distance today. They landed with Brooke and Richard nearly 5 miles later at stopover #1. Can you guess which birds? (#2, #7, #12). The Class of 2011's first journey south is officially underway!
