One
More Makes It (to Stopover #1)
Another
takeoff? Yes! More migration progress? No. The
pilots tried, tried, and tried again to lead the seven "leftover"
crane-kids to stopover #1, where three ace-flier
flock mates
arrived yesterday. All seven took off on the first try with Richard's
ultralight, but the promising start soon fizzled. The good news
is that #4 flew with Richard all the way. Now four girls
are at stopover
1:
#4,#2, #7, #12.
In more good news, Joe reports he flew with #1 and #5 "way
north out over the marsh, and #1 was locked
onto the wing."
Even though they turned back to their old pen, no one's worried
yet. Beginnings are never perfect, but just wait! They'll
do us proud as they gain practice, build endurance, and catch
the joy of flight.
