Winds from the south are blowing in the double digits for the second day in LaSalle County, Illinois. The planes and cranes are grounded, but it's YOUR turn in the pilot's seat of the ultralight with today's lesson and questions, below.

The TrikeCam broadcasts LIVE each day they fly.

In the Classroom: Journal or Discussion

  • (a)Imagine those are your legs in the large photo above. How do we know that that the young cranes are NOT flying with you and the ultralight plane today? (For a hint, see photo.)
  • (b-for-bonus) See Lesson: Come In Alpha-Kilo_Quebec. Discover what all the instruments on the ultralight's dashboard do. Then be the pilot and read the dials to answer the questions.

Journey North is pleased to feature this educational adventure presented in cooperation with the Whooping Crane Eastern Partnership (WCEP).
