Rain drenches the cranes and planes in camp today, but that will soon change. Tomorrow looks good for a flight! Remember how lucky they were last weekend, completing four fly-days in a row? The weather forecast looks good for another flying weekend! Today's slideshow introduces a boy who is waiting for the cranes to arrive in Georgia.

In the Classroom: Journal or Discussion

(a) How did Taylor, the boy in today's photo/slideshow, get so lucky as to fly with Joe in the ultralight? Read his story and tell your favorite part. What did you learn that you didn't know before?

(b-for-bonus): Read the data table to figure out how far to next stopover. Describe how latitude and longitude numbers change during the migration.

Journey North is pleased to feature this educational adventure presented in cooperation with the Whooping Crane Eastern Partnership (WCEP).
