Week Two: Winds Prevent Progress (Total Gone: 5 Miles)
October 12, 2015
Weekly Updates

Fickle fall winds have kept the young cranes grounded during week two. October 7 looked great for flying, but their attempt ended in a turn back when two dropped out and the other four balked in the turbulence they ran into. This video lets us join the day's adventure. The team began week three still waiting out the winds at Stop #1 in Green County, WI. When weather delays add up, do you wonder why the team doesn't just truck the birds to the next stop? Pilot Joe Duff explains why. Join us next Monday for our weekly progress summary, or see daily updates and video cams at Operation Migration.
