Whooping Crane Until his retirement in October 2009, Brian Johns was a Canadian Wildlife Service biologist with 36 years of helping Whooping cranes. He oversaw the Whooping cranes each summer on their vast Canadian nesting grounds in Wood Buffalo National Park.
