Crane #309

Operation Migration's Mark Nipper. He traveled with the migration and watched over the birds in Florida in 2005.

Mark Nipper says of #309: "She's more of a chick than most of the 2005 flock! "She is cute, getting the chicks all riled up by calling and jumping around. This is common for her, but it usually just seems to be how she tries to get her turn at the feeders. I think that in her mind, it is always her turn at the feeders.

"She is a funny bird. She does a lot of preening and makes sure she is always looking her best. She also has a permanent splotch at the base of her neck on her chest that looks like she is dirty."
