Remembering
the Class of 2006: "Penny War" Fund
The kids decided to have a “Penny War” to help toward the memorial fund set up by Operation Migration after the loss of the 17 birds. They were so excited to give their pennies away to a great cause. The six-day penny war between our five grade 4 classes ended on Valentine's Day to symbolize our love of the cranes. Our final total was $324.00, which comes to $18 dollars for each of the 18 cranes. All the money will be sent to Operation Migration for the Remembrance Fund.
We celebrated with “Remembrance Cakes” for each of the classes. They were all winners for contributing to a great cause.
