What is the most interesting part of his job? Brooke's answer.

Brooke Pennypacker has been an Operation Migration pilot since 2002. Not only is he a great pilot but he also has a great sense of humor and a way with words. Brooke can make anyone laugh!

The father of one son, Brooke once built a raft to drift down the Mississippi while reading Huckleberry Finn. He is also a skilled diver. He has worked on oil rigs off the coast of Scotland.

Brooke lives with the birds all year long. He moves to Patuxent for the spring hatching and early chick training. Then he spends the summer with the chicks at "flight school" in Necedah and the fall leading them to Florida. He helps to monitor the birds over the winter in Florida before returning again to Patuxent WRC in the spring. As a member of the Operation Migration team, his entire life is spent on the road.
