Intern Geoffrey
Tarbox grew up in New Hampshire. He was active in a
4-H conservation group through all grades in school, when he
compiled a wildflower
journal containing several hundred New England flora species.
At Texas A&M he specialized in conservation biology. Until
signing on with Operation Migration in 2009, Geoff worked on
an "exotic
plant strike team" based in the Florida Keys. (That means
he goes after invasive plants.) He likes hiking, searching out
unique
wildflowers, fly fishing, bike riding,
and
occasionally kayaking. He REALLY likes playing video games. This
is his third migration, and his great understanding of young
cranes makes him a valuable member of the team.
