Marianne
Wellington is a chick-rearing specialist at ICF.
Along with Richard Urbanek, Marianne is in charge of raising
the chicks in the direct autumn release (DAR) group
each summer. She is their "chick Mama." Marianne
observes each chick and gets to know the personality and
behavior.
This helps her and the other team experts make decisions
about when, where, and with which other cranes they are
released on the Necedah National Wildlife Refuge before fall
migration.
