Sara Zimorski is an aviculturalist with International Crane Foundation (ICF). Until summer 2010, Sara was WCEP Tracking and Winter Management Co-chair. She also helped watch over the ultralight-led chicks during their first winter in Florida.

Using radio telemetry, Sara helped track the new flock's cranes on their fall and spring migrations. She helped capture the Whooping cranes when it became necessary. Sara was so quick at grabbing the wary birds that her method came to be called the ZLG: the Zimorski Lightning Grab!

Read one of Sara's stories about capturing cranes.

Sara left ICF for an exciting job in Louisiana, also involving Whooping cranes. She became the supervisor for a brand new flock of young Whooping cranes being reintroduced to Louisiana in February 2011!
