Summary: A total of 13 chicks hatched to wild pairs in Wisconsin this summer. Only W3-14 survived to fledge and complete fall migration.

#13-03 and #9-05 April 9 Hatched W1-14 May 8 and W2-14 May 9! W-2 died within a few weeks, and W1-14 disappeared by July 8.
#19-04 and #12-02   Hatched W3-14 May 11. Chick was still alive as of July 6—the only chick still surviving of all the summer hatches to wild parents in the eastern flock.
#42-09 DAR and #24-09   Hatched W4-14 and W5-14 On May 12 and May 14. Only W4-14 was still observed on May 28 survey flight and did not survive to fledge.
#14-08 and #24-08

 

Hatched W6-14 and W7-14 on May 14 and May 16, but neither chick was still alive as of May 28 survey flight.
#11-09 and #15-09   Hatched W8-14 on May 15 and W9-14 on May 17. Neither chick survived the summer.
#8-09 and #2-04 Before April 15 One egg rescued when female died April 18.
#32-09 (DAR) and #5-05   Nest failed in May when parents abandoned it.
#8-05 and #1-04   Nest failed in May when parents abandoned it.
#26-09 and #27-06 (DAR)   Nest failed by April 30.
#W1-06 and #1-10   Hatched chick W12-14 May 16 but chick could be found/was not alive as of May 28.
#16-07 and #16-02   Nest failed in May when parents abandoned it.
#17-07 and #10-09   Nest failed in May when parents abandoned it.
#26-07 and #11-02   Hatched W10-14 and W11-14 on May 16 and May 18. Only W-14 seen with the parents on May 28 survey flight and did not survive the summer.
#39-07 (DAR) and #7-07   Nest failed in May when parents abandoned it.
#25-09 and #4-08   Nest failed in May when parents abandoned it.
#5-10 and #28-08   Hatched W13-14 on May 22. Parents observed with chick on May 28 survey flight! Chick was still alive as of June 16.
#19-05 and #8-04   Nest had flooded and failed by Apr. 30.
#36-09 (DAR) and #18-03   Nest failed in April, due to flooding.
#7-11 and #10-11   Failed. Nest was abandoned in May.
#12-11 and #5-11   Nest (one egg) failed ~ 5/16.
#12-05 and #12-03   Nest failed. The abandoned nest with 2 eggs was found on the May 28 survey flight.
