Just as wild birds do, these special birds learned the migration route on a one-way trip. If all goes as expected, they'll migrate back to the Wisconsin marshes where they first learned to fly. Will they know when to go? Will they remember the way? Which birds will travel together? Come spring, trackers watch for changes: The cranes will fly more, circling over the pen and climbing upwards on rising warm air. They'll call more to each other in flight.
