Cranes Beware!
Cranes eat a wide variety of foods, both plant and animal. They, in turn, are prey for predators. Cranes have fearsome beaks and claws, but they must beware of enemies. Foxes, wolves, coyotes, lynxes, bobcats, and even Golden eagles may attack cranes. Raccoons, snakes, weasels, and eagles, owls and larger hawks can go after crane eggs or tiny chicks. Cranes need to roost in water at night in order to keep safe from predators.
