Day 17: Growing Up!
Look at how their feathers have grown in! Their eyes are bright and alert,
and they look just about ready to fledge. They weigh about 4.0 grams today.
They weighed 0.5 grams when they hatched. So in about 16 days, they've
become 8 times bigger!
Q: If a human baby weighed 7 pounds at birth and grew as fast
as a hummingbird, how much would that baby weigh at 16 days old? (Answer
below photo.)
A. 56 pounds!!
