New Generation to Continue the Migration
Spring is a critical time of year for the monarch butterfly. The
old generation is dying. Few butterflies of the next generation
are adults yet. Monarch butterfly numbers are at their lowest point
at this time of year. By the first of May, the monarchs that over-wintered
in Mexico should all have died.
