Mild Winter
Prince Rupert, British Columbia, is our northern-most Canadian tulip garden location. Its latitude is 54°N, but it sits just 500 meters from the Pacific Ocean. Warm ocean currents give the region its mild winter climate.

"We have enjoyed a very mild winter so far, with very few days below freezing. The mean temperature recorded for January was 5.8 degrees Celsius (the warmest temp recorded was 12.9 degrees and the coldest was -2.7). The garden is located just 500 metres from the ocean and is about 40 metres above sea level."
