News: Gardens Emerging
February is a month of contrasts. While New England battles record snowfall amounts, Utah gardeners in the Great Basin desert region are seeing signs of spring.

  • Utah: "We have had a very warm winter and are surprised to see tulips this early."
    North Salt Lake City 02/11/15

  • British Columbia: "It has been an extremely mild winter here, with temperatures rarely falling below 0 degrees C, and on average ranging between 5 and 10 degrees."
    Prince Rupert 02/07/15

  • Illinois: "It's cold - it's freezing - we've had rain, some snow, some ice, and freezing temperatures...but no school cancellations!"
