Average seasonal snowfall in Ithaca is just over 5 feet, but the National Weather Service reports that total snowfall across the Northeast was way above average this year. Students at Belle Sherman Elementary shared their snowy garden on March 5th.
"We took photos of our tulip garden site today. There may be a few days next week with the high temperature above freezing and a bit of sun, but I don't think we'll see any signs of tulips for a few more weeks." 03/05/15 Ithaca, New York
