Recording tulip height in both inches and centimeters gives young scientists the tools to communicate their data across the world.
"Spring is popping up in Hazel Harvey flower beds. Budding young 2nd grade scientists are monitoring the tulip garden. They found that after a thaw the bulbs had sprouted three inches. They measured in both inches and centimeters and drew their observations. They made predictions about what will happen next and wrote down questions."
