The ISH Logo
This is the official logo of International School of Havana. You can see it just outside the front door of the school. Our school was founded in 1965, and we are celebrating the 50th Anniversary Year of ISH. We have students from the Early Years Program all the way up to Grade 12.

Favorite Learning Activities
On of our favorite school activities is conducting experiments and tests. In this photo, our Grade 5 class is conducting a test of air resistance. We designed parachutes that would use air resistance to ensure that an egg would travel safely when dropped from a roof top down to the ground. To drop the egg and parachute, we had some help from our custodian on the roof of the school. You can see the black parachute floating in mid-air, carrying an egg in the strings beneath it. So much fun!

Favorite Books
One of our favorite books is Jerry Spinelli's Loser. The main character Donald might not be the best student, but he never loses his love of life and his desire to help others. Despite being teased, he is very successful at being a good person!

Favorite Sports
A favorite game of ours is playing floor hockey during our Physical Education classes. We have mixed teams of boys and girls. We make sure to drink plenty of water on hot and humid days.

One of Cuba's most popular foods is "Ropa Vieja." It is made of tender pork and sauce. The name translates to "old clothes." Most of the dishes in Cuba are served with vegetables and a whole lot of rice!
