"Zdravo!" . . . You Found Us!
Welcome to QSI International School of Sarajevo! We are a pre-K to 12th grade school, with about 150 students in total. We are located in the city of Sarajevo, in the country of Bosnia & Herzegovina. We are one of 36 schools in the QSI or Quality Schools International system, which are found in 30 countries on 5 continents.

Our School Builidng
This is our QSI school building, situated in the village of Vogosca, about 15 minutes from downtown Sarajevo. The main building has classrooms for all elementary students, two computer labs, several MS/Secondary classrooms, a cafeteria, an art room, and a music room. Additional buildings include changing rooms for PE, a fitness room, secondary classrooms, a library, and a science lab. We also have a large playground area, a basketball court, a mini soccer field, a greenhouse, a school garden, and a covered porch/sitting area.

A Diverse International Community
We are a diverse student body of 28 nationalities. We enjoy sharing our cultures during our annual International Day Festival, which includes performances like the one shown in the second photo below.

School Logo and Mascot
Our QSI group of schools is known for the motto "Success for All", and our Sarajevo school mascot is a wolf, which you see in the logos below. The name of our school newsletter here in Sarajevo is called "The Howler."

A Castle Classroom
Here in Sarajevo, we are so lucky to have such rich history in our own backyard. In this photo, students visit castles and old ruins with their history classes.

Environmental Studies
Bosnia & Herzegovina are very proud of their fresh and clean rivers. In this photo, students are rafting down the Neretva River, which is so clear and clean that you can just scoop a mouthful of water from the side of your raft.

Skiing the Olympic Slopes
The Winter Olympics were held here in Sarajevo in 1984, so every winter all K-12 students get their P.E. credit during our Ski Weeks, while pre-school students enjoy sledding down the hills. The official mascot of the Sarajevo ’84 Winter Olympic Games was Vucko, shown here with his skis of course! And the other two photos show some of our students on the chair lift, and the Olympic hill itself.

Geocaching our Geography Lessons
In our Geography class, we had fun with both indoor and outdoor learning! In these two photos, you see us in the classroom learning our lessons on latitude and longitude, before heading outside for some hands-on field learning by geocaching.

Learning Local Crafts
We really like to learn from local artisans about traditional craft making. In this photo, we are learning how to make a traditional coffee copper set.

Our City of Sarajevo
Sarajevo is the capital and largest city of Bosnia and Herzegovina. About 275,000 people live in the city, and over 500,000 in the larger metro area. The city is in the larger Sarajevo valley, surrounded by the Dinaric Alps and the Miljacka River. Sarajevo is the leading political, social and cultural center of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and a prominent center of culture in the Balkans for entertainment, media, fashion, and art. You can see the city and mountains in the photo below.

Our Country
Bosnia and Herzegovina is situated in Southeastern Europe on the Balkan Peninsula. The surrounding countries include Croatia to the north and west; Serbia to the east; Montenegro to the southeast; and the Adriatic Sea to the south, with a short coastline of just about 20 kilometres (12 miles).
