(a/k/a "Fin del Mundo")

Hurray, You Found Us!
It is a pleasure to meet you at last. We are the Mystery Class in Ushuaia, Argentina. Most of us are about 16 years old, which is Grade 11. Our teacher is Ms. Raffaele. We had fun being a secret Mystery Class and hope you had fun searching for us here in "Fin del Mundo."

Colegio Los Andes
We are students at Colegio Provincial Los Andes, which is usually just shortened to Colegio Los Andes. This photo shows the front of our school building. In English, our school name would translate to something like Los Andes Public High School. Of course, Los Andes refers to the Andes mountain range in South America.

School Banners
These banners on the wall in our school show some of the slogans of our school, written in Spanish of course. Do you know what they mean?

Inside Our School
Here are a few photos inside the school for you to see. One shows a wide view of our gymnasium, and the other is just a photo of one of the hallways in our school at a time between classes.

This is our official school logo/crest. The school was founded back in 1994, and so 2017 is the our school's 23rd year.

Plays and Theater
One of the things we really like to do at Los Andes is present plays, musicals, and other theater events at our school, and sometimes we perform them at other theaters too. A few recent examples were a musical comedy show, and also a show about children's rights. Here are a few posters for those shows.

Tango!!
Let's dance! Another fun activity at school is learning the dance known as Tango. Since 2009 the Provincial College "Los Andes" has offered this style of dance, usually as part of a tango workshop that takes place in the school.

Let's Get Outdoors!
We love to get outdoors, and sometimes we do it as a school group as part of our program called T.E.I ("Trayecto Educativo Integral" or "Integral Educational Path" in English). Since we live in a coastal city, some of these activities take us out on the water in canoes and kayaks.

Our City
Our City Although we are called the Fin del Mundo or the End of the Earth, we're really a pretty big and thriving city. We have about 60,000 people here, and as you can see in the photo, we are an established sea-side city on the shores of the Beagle Channel. Here's a great photo of the city.

Cruise Ships
Lots of people stop here on cruise ships, either on their way to or from Antarctica. Here's a photo of some of the cruise ships that dock here. Why not hop aboard and visit us?!

Penguins
Not far from our shores are several islands that are major homes for penguin populations, like Isla Martillo. It just goes to show you that you don't need to go to Antarctica to see penguins!

Flag and Farewell
We hope you had a great time and learned a lot during your search to find us. We really enjoyed being a secret Mystery Class. We leave you with an image of the flag of our country of Argentina, and say farewell, for now.
