Introducing Luis Weber-Grullon

Luis Weber-Grullon was born in the Dominican Republic, raised in Puerto Rico, and now calls Arizona home. Weber-Grullon obtained a B.S. degree in Environmental Sciences from the University of Puerto Rio, Rio Piedras. While conducting research in tropical drylands and urban wetlands as an undergraduate student, he discovered his passion for Ecology. One of his favorite research experiences was as a student intern with the Woodwell Climate Research Center where he studied shrub encroachment in the Siberian Arctic Tundra. Weber-Grullon recently obtained an M.S. degree in Environmental Life Sciences from Arizona State University, where he focused on ecosystem ecology and experimental research. He also learned about and became interested in data management and programming, honing skills in Python, Jupyter Notebook, R, SQL, and database management. Weber-Grullon’s worked as a fellow with Journey North from June-August 2021.
