Tulip Test Garden maps represent a study in both climate and weather. North America has several climates; hot, cold, wet, and dry. Each year as climate remains somewhat steady, gardens are influenced by fluctuating weather patterns. Study and compare the 5 maps with these questions in mind:
- How many gardens have bloomed; where are the blooming gardens?
- Using the dots on the map, try to identify which parts of the North America have hot, cold, wet, or dry climates
- Look at gardens in the northeastern region of the United States and eastern Canada-- have they emerged yet? Along the Atlantic Coast?
- Which year had the warmest spring? Why did you choose this year?
- Create your own set of questions for studying and comparing garden years.
