A certified English teacher, Ms. Romero lives in Angangueo, Michoacán, Mexico. She is passionate about nature, local life in the region, Mexican culture, history, and traditions. Ms. Estela Romero is an environmental educator with Monarchs Across Georgia and coordinates the Symbolic Migration program in Mexico. In her role, Estela brings Ambassador Butterflies crafted by children in the northern regions to school children residing near the monarchs' winter habitat. With unwavering enthusiasm, she passionately imparts knowledge to Mexican students about monarch conservation and the importance of preserving their natural habitat. With funding from the Monarch Butterfly Fund, Ms Romero also writes articles for Journey North. In these articles, Ms. Romero provides a direct link to the El Rosario and Sierra Chincua Sanctuaries in central México.
