In a single year, the Bobolink may migrate over 12,000 miles round trip between its wintering grounds in South America and the breeding grounds in northern U.S. and Canada! With its black and white plumage, it’s often described as wearing a tuxedo backwards. Bobolinks prefer open areas for breeding and eat such things as plant seeds, insects, and spiders.
