Colorful Blooms
Across North America, tulips are spreading joy and adding color to the landscape.
Tulips Emerging
Some Journey North gardeners in the northern latitudes—where fluctuating spring weather is still bringing cool conditions—are reporting emerging tulips.
Bella in Bend, OR: "Our tulip finally came up." (04/05/2021)
Tulips Blooming
From Utah to Massachusetts, reports of blooming tulips are picking up.
Angel in Salt Lake City, UT: "First two to bloom in front yard container garden." (04/04/2021)
Jennifer in Madison, WI: "Planted these bulbs last fall. They are blooming sooner than all my other tulips." (04/07/2021)
Holly in Chelmsford, MA: "Yesterday no tulips were open. This morning, about half popped open. Unusually warm, 77 degrees for April in MA." (04/10/2021)
Debbie in Donnellson, IA: "Finally my tulips are blooming. I've covered them up 2 nights because of frost warnings. There are 6 of them open now. Temps are low 50's to freezing or a bit above at night." (04/16/2021)
Report Your Observations
If you planted a Tulip Test Garden last fall, don't forget to report twice: when tulips EMERGE and when tulips BLOOM.
