The Migration: Highlights, Maps, and Questions

Highlights: Here Come the Hummingbirds!
What's the buzz? It happened like clockwork in the last week or so: The first ruby-throated hummingbirds showed up in the 5 Gulf Coast states. One excited observer set out pots of flowers to welcome and feed the first hungry hummers. Where do you think the feathered travelers will head next, and when will they reach you? Use your migration route prediction chart to track their journeys.

The rubythroats have just begun their journey north, but observers out West report a steady stream of rufous hummingbirds reaching as far as Canada. How did they get so far so quickly? Come back next week to discover this and more!
