Mystery Class Update: March 23, 2007

Today's Report Includes:

This Week's Sunrise/Sunset Data & Clues

The eighth set of sunrise/sunset data has now arrived from your mystery friends, and so too has the second set of clues.

And when it comes to clues, your mystery friends REALLY deliver! Our contact at one secret site was stuck for several days in a blizzard 50km from home, and our contact at another site contracted malaria.

Undeterred by these challenges, they've managed to keep those clues coming, and we're glad to report they're both doing well now!

Journal Question Springs Up on the Equinox

A few weeks ago, we asked you to think about what your photoperiod graphs would look like on the equinox.

As some of you observed, many locations do not have exactly twelve hours of equal day and night on the equinox.

What do you think causes the photoperiod to not be exactly 12 hours at some locations? Write your thoughts in your journal and discuss as a class.

 Eggstraordinary Events and Reminder

Are you getting any amazing test results like this "eggsample" below from a New Jersey teacher? Be sure to continue your egg balancing tests this week and next!

"Our egg is still standing, and it's been up for 3 days! Every class in the school came in to look -- then they saw our chart tracking the Mystery Classes. How excited they were!"
